Understanding the message

How can God’s promised future illuminate present steps?

Christ’s resurrection brings hope for new creation and present faithfulness.

Colossians 3 begins with union with the risen Christ. Seeking things above means living under Christ’s reign rather than abandoning the world. Compassion, truth, forgiveness, and love express renewed life within actual relationships.

Christ is already risen; death and tears have not yet fully disappeared. Revelation 21:1–5 pictures God making all things new. Present weakness does not prove abandonment. Resurrection hope gives meaning to justice, care, and service even when fruit is delayed.

The series conclusion returns the journey to a step within 24 hours and reviews after days 30, 60, and 90. Completing lessons does not complete discipleship. Bring learned grace, a practice needing support, safe community, and feasible service into one plan.

A barrier to examine

Measuring life only by immediate results can obscure small acts of faithfulness.

Read and discuss

  1. What important images, words or movements do you notice in the passage?
  2. How can new-creation hope produce present service rather than avoidance of responsibility?
  3. Which truth about Christ has changed a decision? Which area still needs support and a continuing step?

3 · Carry the lesson into life

One practice for this week

Within 24 hours, choose one continuing practice. Complete a 90-day plan: a foundational truth, two practices, a consenting trusted companion, needed support, and an act of service. Set reviews for days 30, 60, and 90; adjust graciously without assigning spiritual scores.

A closing prayer

God of new creation, let resurrection light guide present faithfulness, love of neighbor, and enduring hope. Amen.

In a group, anyone may choose to listen without answering a personal question. Respect privacy and do not pressure anyone to share their story.

4 · Pause and review

Integrate the journey · The next 90 days

Final exercise: in a notebook or workbook, write one page connecting a truth about Christ, a changed decision, an ongoing obstacle, and an act of service. Sharing personal details remains optional.

PeriodPractice and review
24 hoursBegin one small practice; place review dates on a calendar.
Days 1–30Continue two modest practices, a consenting trusted companion, and needed support. Review on day 30.
Days 31–60Adjust an obstacle; attempt one act of service with consent and available capacity. Review on day 60.
Days 61–90Identify a continuing rhythm, support need, and next step. Review on day 90.

Use a notebook, worksheet, or the private reflection section below. Course records track participation and understanding rather than the worth of faith.
